Georges Arvanitas (born in Marseille on June 13, ; died September 25, ) was a jazz pianist and organist.

Life and career

He began life as a child of Greek immigrants from Constantinople.

At the age of four he began studying piano and initially trained as a classical. However he switched to jazz some time in his teens and would be known for jazz in adulthood.[1] His influences included Bud Powell and Bill Evans.

In the late '50s, he recorded on albums by Art Farmer and Louis Hayes, and played with Dexter Gordon and Johnny Griffin.[2] He also worked with Yusef Lateef.[3]
